What is holistic skincare?
Holistic skin care is an ancient practice that involves treating the skin in a "whole" way. Holistic skin care looks at the bigger picture and goes beyond your external symptoms to understand the root cause of skin imbalances. Holistic skin care is a whole lot more than just cleansers and moisturizers. Your skin is your body's largest organ, communicating with both internal and external forces daily. Your skin needs to maintain the correct balance to function optimally.
Holistic skin care is the practice of combining products, supplements, and habits to energetically support the mind, body, and spirit, all of which keep your skin and its systems in equilibrium.

How should I prepare for my treatment?
Schedule your facial at a time that is good for you—when you don't have too many pressing concerns or upcoming activities. Drink plenty of water and give yourself time to arrive, ask questions, and ease into the process. We ask that you arrive with no makeup, as this allows more time for the facial.
-
What can I expect from my first session?
Before we begin, the process will be outlined and all of your questions answered. We'll discuss your skin history and how you can get the most from your treatment. A facial is typically received without a shirt or bra, though it's most important that you feel comfortable. If you'd like to wear a tank top or bra, you're welcome to. However, we recommend pulling the straps down so they don’t get covered in massage oil. We will leave the room while you undress and lay on the table underneath the sheets with only your shoulders, arms, and head exposed. Music will be playing during your treatment.
Communication is key to the entire process, so we'll check in throughout the session to make sure you are receiving the full relaxing benefits. Remember: You're in charge! Our goal is to ensure your comfort and relaxation. If you experience any discomfort with products or techniques, we want to know.

How can I get the most from my facial?
If at all possible, don’t wear face makeup to your appointment. Removing makeup takes time that is best dedicated to your treatment.
Don’t apply any retinoid topical creams, AHA, or BHA exfoliants the days leading up to your treatment. These products may make your skin overly sensitive.
Be as open to the process as you can.
Relax and try to let your thoughts go. Breathe slow deep breaths.
Communicate openly so we may address your needs as best as possible.
-
What happens after my facial?
After your treatment, we'll leave the room and let you take a minute to ground yourself. When you're ready, you'll get dressed and prepare to leave the studio.
-
How do I take care of myself and my skin after my facial?
Stay hydrated following your facial. Doing so supports your skin and helps flush toxins through the lymphatic system.
You will feel deeply relaxed following a session, so it is ideal to leave some time between your treatment and the next thing on your agenda to decompress, reflect, and enjoy. Take the day off if you can and continue to relax and practice self-care.
Be gentle when washing your face. Your skin may be a little sensitive following your facial, so take extra care for a few days after your treatment.
Avoid heavy makeup the day of your facial.
Avoid using any exfoliating products (AHAs and BHAs), retinoids, or face scrubs for at least a week following your facial.
Wear sunscreen every day.
-
How often should I get a facial?
We recommend scheduling a facial every 4-6 weeks to receive the full benefits that our treatments provide. However, regular treatments are not required to see results, enjoy the process, and heal.
-
Who can benefit from a facial?
Anybody who has skin; come as you are!
-
Are our products vegan?
We sometimes use raw honey, goat’s milk yogurt or beef tallow in customized treatment masks, but a facial can be 100% vegan if necessary. Let us know before we get started if you’d like a vegan facial.
All the facial products we use are non-toxic, organic, and plant-based.

Can I bring my child with me?
Yes!
Kids and babies are always welcome! Please keep in mind, the room is not baby/toddler proof, you will need to be able to keep an eye on them. If you need to bring your young child with you, please let me know ahead of time so I can prepare the room as best as I can, but I cannot guarantee full babyproof.
In the end, I recommend this time of self-care to be child-free if possible. If you need to reschedule, I would be happy to work with you!
